2005camera Privacy Policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
2005camera ("the app") is an Android camera app by EndingBoredom ("we", "us") that makes your photos and videos look like they were taken on a digital camera from 2005. This policy explains what the app does with your information.
The short version: everything happens on your phone. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no internet access, so we never receive your photos, videos or any other personal information.
1. What we collect
Nothing. The app does not collect, store on our servers, or share any personal information. It does not request internet access, so it cannot send data to us or anyone else.
2. Permissions the app uses
- Camera. To show the viewfinder and take photos and videos when you press the shutter.
- Microphone. To record sound with your videos. You can deny it and still record videos without sound, and take photos as normal.
3. Your photos and videos
The vintage effect is applied on your phone. Finished photos and videos are saved to your phone's photo library in the DCIM/2005camera folder, where you can view, share or delete them with your gallery app like any other photo. Videos are processed in the app's temporary storage on your phone, and those temporary files are deleted once the video is saved.
The app adds no location or date stamp to your images. Your phone records the date each file was taken so your gallery can sort it.
4. Sharing
We don't share or sell any data, because we don't have any. If you choose to share a photo or video from your gallery, that is handled by the app you share it with and its own privacy policy.
5. Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes its settings and temporary files from your phone. Photos and videos you took stay in your photo library until you delete them there.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. Since it collects no personal information, no personal information from children is collected.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information (for example by adding a feature that uses the internet), we will update this policy and the date at the top before that version is released.
